A new converter concept revolves around the ability to interchange the front and rear components of the lens independently and without the help of a manufacturer. This modular design is a key feature of the VS-TLS(FR) Series, enabling users to customize their optical setup without needing to invest in multiple complete lenses. By simply swapping out either the front or rear lens, users can adapt to different imaging requirements efficiently if needed. Each front lens offers different base magnifications, allowing users to select the appropriate lens based on their specific application needs. The rear unit further refine the magnification and field of view (FoV) when combined with the front lenses. By freely combining four front lens models with five rear units, users can achieve 20 different optical magnifications, ranging from 0.136x to 1x. To prevent misalignment and ensuring stability during use, the company designed a unique locking mechanism called X-Lock. This function plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the optical setup, particularly in environments where the lenses may be subject to vibrations or other disturbances.

The beginning was made in 2020, when VST launched the VS-TLS series. This product line came with a similar concept and was designed to especially meet the specific needs of European users in sectors such as automotive and medical industries. The largest lens model in this series offers a field of view of up to 220mm. As a continuation, VS-TLS(FR) was launched to give its customers even more magnification options. It meets the image circle and image quality requirements for the most popular sensors in the market, such as 1.1″ (e.g., IMX253, IMX255) or 4/3″ (e.g., IMX530). In addition to these C-Mount options, there is a rear converter that can support even image circles up to 38mm. For easy mounting, the company also offers various adapters, allowing the lens to be connected to different camera mounts that are necessary for line scan imaging, including M42, TFL, M58, and F-Mount. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand the lineup to meet evolving market demands.
